"MOONFALL" IS SCIFI, DRAMATIC FUN!
The film stars Halle Barry, Patrick Wilson, and John Bradley. The screenplay is by Roland Emmerich, Harald Kloser, and Spenser Cohen. Directed by Roland Emmerich. The movie didn't do so well in the box office, but on HBO+, the film has flourished and has received positive reviews where it counts. I was impressed with the visual effects, the acting, and the choice of music for the film. Bradley, who is widely known for his role as Samwell Tarly in the Game of Thrones, performs a stunning and humorous part of the "non-scientist" and conspiracy theorist, who has figured out the entire plot for the moon crashing into the earth at an increased rate, before any this real time information landed into NASA's lap.
The strength of the film comes from the performances of Barry, who always does a colossal job of transforming herself into the required role to give solid character development and bring some believable emotion to required scenes. Wilson plays his part well, and even though his has an exclusive skill of seemingly not being too excited for his part in any film, delivers a strong performance and provides the right temperament for a professional astronaut who is stripped from his job and future successes by NASA, in an attempt to keep the truth of aliens existing so close to earth.
The one weakness in the film is the story sub-plot, where the families of Barry and Wilson are left back on earth to struggle during the planetary holocaust that is crashing all around them. Obviously written in as filler, these parts in the film were cast with a bunch of nobodies that are let by veteran actor, Michael Pena. This story arc extension seems to drag, even though there are large explosions, action sequences that seem to go no where, and completely destroys any momentum made by the main arc being presented on the moon, the alien entity that is hell bent on killing all organic matter, and a separate alien technology that can restore the moons orbit and save the earth.
In my opinion, I found it really hard to bash this movie as it was clearly produced to entertain and not be taken so seriously as a historically correct film. But with better promotional advertising, a stronger trailer, and the editing out of the "family survival" story arc, this film could have done a whole lot better at the theater and might have flourished with an all time high in streaming on HBO+.

NEW "QUANTUM LEAP" SERIES DERAILS BEFORE LEAVING STATION
I could tear this new series apart with it's intended and lazy failure to explain the obvious in the technical department, but I gave this show a chance. I understand that being specific will only make this review seem more "personally charged" to attempt a hostile "shut is down before you destroy the best part of the original series" mentality to the show. You should take my word for it, no special effects team or heavy handed cast lineup is going to save this pile of vomit that's been tossed to the large fanbase. Everything woke in today's society is tossed at you from the start; including a cross-cultural alternative lifestyle cast, to presenting interracial relationships, to altering actual history patterns to better suit today's presentism that does hold a huge factor in at least three episodes.
*Presentism - Judging everyone in the past by the standards of the present.
What's good in the series. Well, just like the new Star Trek extensions on the rival Paramount network, the special effects were upgraded. The woke community gets to see some cool flashy effects and holographic displays which have been overly used over the course of recent time. The camera work and lighting are up to speed and there are some action sequences that were never used in the original series that sets this show apart from the old. So yes, there is more action and with the holographic section of the show presenting the back end of what's happening while Dr. Song is in another time and place, it's good to see what the team is doing behind the scenes.
What's bad about the series. It's a long list, but the acting stands out above the rest. There's the feel of the actors not being given a good opportunity to settle in to their roles. Of course, in today's wokism mentality, there has to be a romantic link somewhere which is rushed and IMO damages the flow of the fifth episode. The writers brought in characters from the original series to help people understand that Becket's time in the Quantum Leap wasn't a wasted effort. You hear a lot of "If it wasn't for Dr. Becket, I would never be here" or some variation of it. But worst of all, and for all of the research team trying to figure out how the technology works, Dr. Song launches himself into the machine without warning anyone on a secret mission??...Time traveling isn't a sea cruise adventure, it's a dangerous place to visit and should be widely respected at all costs.
This new re-boot also fails to mention some elements of the QL techology, like where is the essence of the person that Dr. Song replaces when he leaps? In the old series, the essence of the person replaced remains in the holo-chamber; where he/she can be interrogated for information for Ziggy to use in her calculations to figure out what Sam had to do to leap out.
Is the show fun? No. Is the show capable of leaping beyond the fantastic adventure of the original show? No. Has this new show hinted on saving Sam and getting him home? Of course; but not in the way that one might suspect. With the loss of Dean Stockwell earlier this year, any chance for a cool reunion of the old cast died with him. The new holo-assistant, played by Caitlin Bassett, is just another action packet female character with controlled vigor and emotion, who was also added as the love interest. She's got a long way to go to be anywhere near as clever as Stockwell was in delivering her part in the show. Her character does divulge some information that she was supposed to be the actual leaper within the new team; something that would have been a little more acceptable for the new show in my opinion.
In closing, the show is okay. It's not a spectacular group performance that I would have expected from a reboot of such a splendid series. It was approved for a second season...well, after the harrowing historical nonsense presented in the last episode of the season, I'm surprised that this show was given another nod with the same writing team.

QUANTUM STORM WIKI ON “ZOMBIE REIGN”
Zombie Reign [ZR] - also known as THE OATH - is a failed horror/zombie/action film [and/or series] project written and directed by Ramiro "Henry" Arrieta-Mireles Avendano. It was the only feature film [or series] idea ever attempted in development and/or production by the director. What the story or plot to this monstrous pipe dream was all about is just about anyone’s guess. But what is known about the story is that it was supposed to be about the military side of life just before a zombie apocalypse happens and how a group of people, led by a Marine Officer named Alvarez, who got together to fight and survive after the apocalypse occurs. Zombie Reign was supposed to feature Ramiro Arrieta-Mireles Avendano, Vincent Segovia, Cynthia Aline, Christopher Garrett, Michelle Holland, Taeko Baird, Brett Wilson Sr., Melissa Dawn Smith, David Perales Jr., Christopher Henry, Bobby Lee Osborn, Robert Lealies, Gigi Parker Hudnall, Brett Wilson Jr., Laura Careterro, Lester James, and Elizabeth Wilkinson, just to name a few.

Zombie Reign [ZR] was supposed to be an ultra-low independent film [or series] directed and produced by Ramiro "Henry" Arrieta-Mireles Avendano between 2006-2016[?]. There were other titles to this huge pile of crap, once it was called “The Oath,” then it was changed to “Zombie Reign,” then it changed to “Zombie Reign: Revelations,” then back to “The Oath”...and on and on and on. The director told his cast that the original script was something that he put together when he was a young teen watching a movie on cable TV. The truth is, the script for ZR was stolen from someone else and was then modified by Avendano to make it look like it was all his. The director added characters to the original script, changing dialog often, and eventually the script lost it's focus on the story and plot. There were too many variances in the script writing, tons of cut and pasting, that all showed a pattern of PURE deceit, as all this project ever was was an attempt to have the directors name, “Ramiro Avendano,” up in lights.
Even before the team on ZR had actual cameras and sound equipment to begin production, there was an upper level hype that was being pushed out on Facebook and other internet mediums. Avendano first started this creep show in Las Vegas, NV where he was probably eventually kicked out of town for it, and then it moved to San Antonio were "EVERYBODY wants to be an instant star" was exposed to his sham. This goof ball had everyone believing that he went to law school [in San Antonio?] and was to become a lawyer, but that he was too focused on his real dream of becoming an “instant hit film maker" and making the film of his dreams, a zombie flick. With no money, no real job, no real friends, a pissed off ex-wife with allegations of sexual child abuse, and no real infrastructure in the film business, this idiot held extensive auditions, made casting calls, spread the news about his movie production, got laid, ate for free, and best of all, had a career in film making without ever making a film!
Not to beat
a dead horse [again], but for years, Avendano was seen editing the ZR movie on his
personal laptop; but no one ever saw one second of what he was actually editing. Even
worse, those closest to him never saw a segment of the movie that was being
edited and put together by this breathtakingly awesome first time director. The
pathetic mentality of a few in his inner circle kept fueling the fires of future success through
highly aimed hopes and dreams; all of which were never going to come to
fruition. With personalized social circles, Avendano became a godlike entity
who would promise so much success if one just simply followed him, listened to
his word, and believed in his dream just like everyone else around him. His people began to give to him freely without him asking for anything. He was, and still is, untouchable to blame by his deepest followers.
TENSION SURFACES FROM AN UNLIKELY SOURCE
Then, like a bad sub plot, the entire ZR film project fell under scrutiny when a couple of losers by the names of Tim Miller, and an out of state idiot, Johnny Lepper [of Buffalo, NY], got involved in a smear campaign against Avendano. They both alleged a ton of wrong doings against the amateur director and provided falsified evidence of text messages and background checks insisting that Avendano had conspired to commit fraud, that he had a spotty past, and that he had sexual assault charges made against him on a previous film project. Even farther, these two bozo's were able to get their claims published in the local publication of the San Antonio Current with the help of staff writer, Kiko Martinez, who slandered the director openly. All of their allegations in the article were were proven false and slanderous, leaving The Current to settle out in civil court against a lawsuit filed by the director in San Antonio, TX. But Avendano didn't need anyone outside of his production team trying to help ruin his reputation, he was destined to eventually do that all by himself.
GREENER PASTURES IN LAS VEGAS
Again though, it was only a matter of time before Avendano began to gloat and over-hype this new rehashed pipe-dream. The new cast and crew of The Oath [in Las Vegas] was excited to be receiving a paycheck and getting on this wild ride that would eventually lead them to “stardom.” The director had people running around training all the time with airsoft weapons. He boldly presented videos of himself on Facebook, running around and enjoying the splendor pretending to be training like real Special Ops military men. You think he was doing this for hype?...No sir, he was doing this to show those people back in San Antonio that this new venture was "the real deal” and that those who stayed behind were missing out. [*] He was now a master scam artist, even using his "inner circle" to help him procure true working professionals in film to assist in the production of "The Oath" in Las Vegas, NV; one of them was veteran actor, Tony Todd, who was paid handsomely for his ten minutes of work. The best thing is, those professionals quickly realized the sham and walked away from the project before they became too deeply involved.
LAS VEGAS EASILY FELL PREY
Think about this; Avendano had big cash for a movie budget, but he spent a majority of it on
himself, his wife, his mother; eating expensively, tossing cash about in Las Vegas like it was growing on trees...like having herpes. It was only going to be a matter of time before the director had a relapse of "the stupids," and he would fall flat on his face again. And he did just that. First, after he ran out of budget money, he pawned off all of his studio equipment, just to use the money to buy more lavish foods from fancy restaurants. When some of the smarter actors begin to question his motifs, Avendano never gave a straight answer, and then began to slowly cut people off from his inner circle.
All of the directors crude decision making began to worry the cast and crew. His narrow minded actions were not only destroying all the work the actors put into the film, but he was also ruining the names of some good people in Las Vegas who initially supported him blindly; those being Socorro Jones, Cheryl Prater, Tonya Todd, TJ Wimbs, Aaron Castillo, Scott Harris, and a few others. By the time this group got together, shared notes, and tried to arrange a meeting at Jones' home to talk about what Avendano [or Roe] was actually perpetrating, it was too late. Even though part of this group of actors claimed to be in contact with the prime investor [via phone calls and Zoom meetings] for over nine months in 2020, hoping the investor would come and save them, the investor proved to be just as worthless as Avendano and never took a stand to make things right. As a matter of fact, the investor seemed to also be afraid of Avendano, almost as if the director had something to use against the investor that could being him down. [*]
The problem with the investor was that he was preoccupied with sponsoring another film production in Texas, claiming to several people in Las Vegas that he was working hard to keep his other production there in-line, due to having a director and crew who didn’t know what they were doing on set. What the actors in Las Vegas didn’t know was that the investor had never produced, properly invested, or made a movie in his life and that he was stringing the actors in Vegas along just to bring a “heroes attention” to himself, just like Avendano did. In truth, the other film he sponsored in Texas was HAVOC 114; a production where he had absolutely no say, the film was already “in the can” and entering post editing; and which would eventually win a ton of international indie awards. [*]
Right after this, going into December of 2020, the director released news that The Oath was scheduled to be released nation-wide, but for only two days. He claimed that he was going to welcome the cast to one of the many premieres of the films release. Of course, no one bought it and Prater made sure that the director knew it. The director had over stepped his own B.S. and his production was on the verge of losing everyone...except for Jones, who would hold on to the bitter end, even after she complained to her staff that her reputation was "on the line" with this disastrous pipe dream of a film; commendable to some, to others just more proof that some people couldn’t let go of the directors “possible” chance at success.
WAS THE DREAM NOW OVER?
What did the director learn from this new shit show; that there’s always some sucker out there who desires instant fame and money, MORE than he did. And it’s a fact that Avendano didn’t lose an ounce of sleep over any of his decisions.
HOW WORKING WITH AVENDANO EFFECTED PEOPLE
What about the other San Antonio supporters, you might ask? Well, the word is if Taeko Baird is in a film project, there’s always some type of drama that follows it. And yep, she’s also in Wilson Sr’s new indie film that has and will also go nowhere, even though someone has filled their heads with the idea that there’s a "distribution deal" in the works and millions of dollars are riding on it. But if Baird is in this film as well, and if she’s personally involved with any part of the management, its a sure bet that the film project will suffer from her idiocy of needing to know everything in the film business. Well, what she also learned from hanging out closely with Avendano is to always keep copies of contracts and legal work that can be quickly spruced up, copy and pasted, to make it seem authentic, original, but more importantly, look legitimately legal.
In the
end, this ZR movie, plus The Oath, were never made. No one ever saw a completed film nor was anyone ever given copies of the film to help some of the actors bolster their own demo reels.
The twenty-something minutes of crap that was actually previewed just never had a chance of standing on its own, even as a web series. The sound was bad, the film format was not of any film standard I’ve ever seen, and there was a bunch of badly planned green screen moments that were absolutely hilarious and not prepared properly. Constructive criticism is sometimes the best medicine for first time filmmakers to realize where their skills actually lie. For this director to work on ZR for over ten years, just goes to show that Avendano was too chicken-shit to show anyone the real truth about his dream; that he couldn’t direct or capture anything on film to help save his life.
Anyone can look back at all of the actors, new and old, who brought so much talent to his pipe dream that it will make anyone truly wonder who was building up all the hype in San Antonio and Las Vegas…surely, it was all the people who sold their souls and wanted instant fame.
The only good thing that came out of ZR and The Oath were the circle of friends who bonded together over time and became small pockets of tightly knit family, who often still contact each other for support, giving each other updates on the happenings in their lives.
RIP Zombie Reign.

"THIRTEEN LIVES" BRINGS DIRE MEASURES TO HEROIC THINKING [No Spoiler Review]
π₯πMovie Reviewππ₯ - THIRTEEN LIVES - Amazon Prime - PG13 - A movie directed by Ron Howard is literally a breathtaking "true to life" film about thirteen Thai soccer players who were trapped in a cave [during a pre-monsoon storm] for almost two weeks and were kept alive by remaining calm and being led by their young soccer coach who reassured them they would be saved, even though they had no food. The entire film was produced in Thailand, with a few scenes shot in England.
The movie has a semi-slow start, due to the language barrier where there is a bunch of closed captioning [which I detest], but once the movie hinted on the introductions of the characters soon to be in jeopardy, the movie got straight to the business at hand. Where I would have approached the story telling a little differently at the beginning; showing the soccer players side of seeing the waters rise around them in the caves, Howard brilliantly maneuvered the story telling to bring you to the main characters, led by Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell. Mortensen was at the top of his acting game again, but I was truly impressed by Farrell's new ability to morph into a different character, something I haven't ever seen him do in films before. Both leading characters were vulnerable to their inner fears of potential failure, but both gave each other strength through humor; something that I was exposed to during my time in the military.
Many of the supporting actors were "islanders" who had very little training in acting, but they presented their parts realistically; something that I'm sure that Howard had to work with to make presentable. The cinematography was simply, incredible. Sayombhu Mukdeeprom did a wonderful job capturing the tight quarters of diving through caves with turbulent currents, building the tension through some claustrophobic views.
As with any Howard film production, there's always a happy ending in every film he makes with a little loss to build up the climax, and this movie delivered it's punch in the plot with me sitting on the edge of the couch hoping all of the kids would all make it out alive. This being a film about true events, I am SO happy that Howard did not bend to Hollywood elitist and add a fictional female character who "stepped up" to save the day. Not one of his best films, but it's a film definitely worth watching.

HOUSTON INDIE FILM "WEB OF EVE" PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION
The plot and story seem diabolical, but very logical in its order to tell its tale. You’re brought along to follow a police detective on the trail of something dark and big. This film is about evil and how it intertwines between each character while revealing a dark "vampire-like" atmosphere that is just waiting to tear things apart at a moments notice. There are some outstanding individual performances and Parker really sold it to me as a demon-like entity that spins a web to ensnare his next victim. Even though this film is a short, the potential seemed unlimited and it is quite a shame that the entire film/series project was never completed.

LORD OF THE THRONES & GAME OF RINGS PREQUELS BURN BRAIN CELLS, PROVING HOLLYWOOD HAS LOST IT'S ORIGINALITY
Somehow, both of these new prequel show's present the important element of having a diverse culture, races intermingling and bringing in n assortment of actors to fill today's need of showing how history "should be portrayed" to make everyone happy. I know that there's a large belief that the two franchises were white washed on purpose, and that everyone's history will be damaged because of it. But I find it ridiculous that the producers claimed that these prequels would "be in line" with the original shows, but tell a story of what happened previously in their histories, blah-blah-blah...
In the THRONES prequel, why not just add a race of Zulu-type warriors that once governed a large area of their known world. This race could have become extinct over time, or perhaps driven off the land and now living elsewhere. That would seem a little more acceptable. The same could have been said for RINGS, as the land of Middle Earth was devastated with meg-wars that eliminated a ton of the human populace. I find this more fathomable to accept into the mythology of both fantasy worlds, solely because the prime shows currently in our history fail to show or hint that any such additions to race existed. It's a perfect endeavor to showcase and would probably be a little more acceptable to swallow by the main followers of the books that presented both of these worlds in the first place.
I'm certainly not trying to lead on to anything, but I am sure that the production team; including the directors, the writers and the on set crew probably didn't feel comfortable following the possibility of shooting another incestuous relationship in the series, like the one previewed in the first series between brother and sister in Game of Thrones. In my opinion, not allowing for Alcok to grow into the character of Rhaenyra over the course of several seasons is just a loss to the entire production just like Maisie Williams was allowed to grow as Araya Stark. The only reason for a timejump is to present a new character arc to help the more maturer viewers [who actually are the bread and butter of the series followers] to feel more comfortable seeing a mature looking actress to take it in the ass by the much older male actor in the series. And please don't forget that statues will be taken down in this series, to help appease those woke fans that changing history through sheer violence is the natural way to do course corrections in culture.

“WHEEL OF TIME” BECOMES AN UNFORTUNATE MISFIRE...
π₯πSeries Reviewππ₯ - WHEEL OF TIME - Amazon Prime - [PG 13] - This series is based on the book series by Robert Jordan. There was something about the first three episodes of this series that honestly intrigued me to follow it. Maybe it was the visual effects, the details in the production, the hint of mystical mystery, the look of being defiant against the new prequel series out there...maybe it was the addition of Rosamund Pike [from Gone Girl (2014)] that honed my willingness to give this thing a try.
At first glance, the story pitch was a little dry, dropping the viewer into the middle of something big, with magic and other essential mystical and dark elements to a back story that happened a long time ago; falling along the lines of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. So much of the same type of writing that movies and series before have digressed through over the recent years, that by the time the actual plot is laid out to the viewer, over some mysterious and diabolical reasons that no normal person could possibly understand or accept into their normal lives, you find out that there's a mission involved and that only a few people have been chosen to follow, all mostly against their will. I know, it all sounds like we've heard this same crap before, right?...it certainly isn't the story that sounds too familiar, but with all of the visual effects, the production, and the directing that all looks too familiar to ignore.
The story arc revolves around a group of young twenty year olds, all of whom question just about everything, including their own abilities, and love to argue amongst themselves over self doubt. They are forced to split up and travel for a few months to reach “The White Tower” - a place where all of the known witches reside, preparing themselves for a possible encounter with “The Dark One,” who is seldom seen. There is a prophecy that has been told and they are told that one member of the group is “the chosen one” who will defeat the evil one. Strange plot twist I’m sure, but the series still finds a way to show who is straight, who is gay/lesbian, and who has chosen to be celibate for spiritual reasons.
The cast is female heavy, most of the magic wielders are female, and in today's Hollywood way of thinking, where ever there's bunch of women living in harmony...well, you guessed it, there's some "alternate lifestyle" lesbianism going on, which isn't a bad thing, but goes to prove that networks [and streaming services alike] love to use it to piss viewers off and make a selling point to bring in the younger viewers, like its THAT important to show that even in mystical times, being gay exists...whoah boy!
It's also too obvious to point out that, since masculinity is no longer an important element in the mystical world, that there are some over powering and heavily choreographed fight scenes with female heroines which will make this series last another season. If your in to watching a lot of cheese for entertainment, stay the course and enjoy the show. But in reality, this series had something good going for it until the leading character, for all of her mystery and power of being a magical witch, just showed her hand of cards and it was extremely weak.

QSE .357 WIKI POSTS SHOW GREAT SUCCESS WITH FOLLOWERS!
Read the numbers and weep! - The Quantum Storm History WIKI pages are proving to be a hit with studio followers. Many comments of your comments have been received and the studio is doing it's best to answer your questions to give you the best up-to-date information, and in some instances, provide behind the scenes requests. The Wiki posts are an attempt to build "source material" for the Wikipedia website to start building a historical database for studio films.
The studio CEO says that the episode in production for Iscandar concerns a dark story that is in line with the Original Star Trek series [STOS] "City on the Edge of Forever" and one that strong cast was hired to assist with the episode. A Wiki for the Iscandar series will not be released until the first season of the series is released online. The studio has not mentioned a suggested release date for the series, but promises that a trailer for the series is currently being manufactured with all of the footage that is currently on file. What is known about the series is that there are several variances in the cast lineup which will be presented at one time. More information for the Iscandar series to follow.
Studio Wiki's will also be produced for local and statewide Independent films which were advertised or hyped for production, but never released or were failed to be produced as promised. With notes taken from studio news investigations over the course of more than ten years, the studio plans to release the Wiki's in the next few coming months. As mentioned earlier, people involved in these failed Independent film projects will be given an open opportunity to add or request certain information to be released from the new Wiki posts, but all requested changes or deletions will be posted on the Wiki's to give other individuals the chance to counter a change or deletion.
