APPLE TV’S "THE MORNING SHOW" SURPRISES AUDIENCES WITH DIABOLICAL EASE

APPLE TV - The Morning Show

🎥🎞️Series Review-🎞️🎥 THE MORNING SHOW Season One [2019] - Apple TV - R - Created by Jay Carson. Executive Producers Jennifer Aniston; Reese Witherspoon; Kerry Ehrin; Michael Ellenberg; Mimi Leder; Kristin Hahn; and Lauren Levy Neustadter. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carrell, and Billy Crudup. Season One actually won a ton of Emmy and Independent Film awards.

The series covers a plot and story which is loosely based on the "Today Show's" criminal antics of Matt Lauer; who was disgraced from the popular morning show in 2017. Carrell plays "Mitch Kessler," a popular morning anchor who is accused of several instances of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace. Anniston plays Alex Levy, his cohost who is pushed into a political fight to try and keep her job, after Kessler is removed from the morning show. Witherspoon plays Bradley Jackson, a stern and upfront, small town reporter who is hired by the morning shows new executive producer, to fill in Kessler's void but also possibly replace Levy should contract negotiations fail. The series is professionally produced in epic movie format with stationary cameras, soft lighting, fantastic sound and controlled sets.

THE GOOD - Aniston and Witherspoon perform brilliantly in this series format, breaking away from quirky comedy and going straight for the dramatic. Carrell also stands up and portrays an overly dramatic character who has spent years being pampered by the shows network and he now finds himself on the edge of losing everything for his behind the camera sins. The show plays out a power struggle within the ranks; everyone trying to move up in the totem pole while the sexual misconduct being alleged against Carrell's character is investigated by the same network show.

THE BAD - The "Matt Lauer effect" for the members of the morning shows cast and crew is over dramatized for obvious entertainment. Even though the power of the dollar is an obvious attribute that happens in the network business, there's a little bit too much to swallow when the actors spend their time bitching out their paychecks. Other than that, there's nothing to actually complain about with this show.

POST MORTEM - This is a fantastically produced series. Overly dramatic at times, but it delivers the message well about how things could have went down when Matt Lauer was accused of both Sexual Misconduct and Harassment.

LORD OF THE THRONES & GAME OF RINGS PREQUELS BURN BRAIN CELLS, PROVING HOLLYWOOD HAS LOST IT'S ORIGINALITY

Series Review -THRONES VS RINGS - [HBO Plus/Amazon Prime - [R] - Yes, I'm making fun of both the prequels already being presented; one is called House of Dragons and the other is called The Rings of Power. But I'm not going to lie, and this isn't about all of the new 'black characters' being brought into these two series, it's about the lack of originality and the evidence that shows that today's series or movie writer[s] try to hard to delve into political landscapes, telling stories through useless dialog which slows the momentum of the story arcs, leaving no room for the viewer to see that there is a huge difference between any two prequel series which could have had more to offer. There are signs in the current presentation that the writers don't know how to present a family filled with dubious friction or build likeable characters without having one of the other characters use dialog to sell it to the viewer.

Somehow, both of these new prequel show's present the important element of having a diverse culture, races intermingling and bringing in n assortment of actors to fill today's need of showing how history "should be portrayed" to make everyone happy. I know that there's a large belief that the two franchises were white washed on purpose, and that everyone's history will be damaged because of it. But I find it ridiculous that the producers claimed that these prequels would "be in line" with the original shows, but tell a story of what happened previously in their histories, blah-blah-blah...

In the THRONES prequel, why not just add a race of Zulu-type warriors that once governed a large area of their known world. This race could have become extinct over time, or perhaps driven off the land and now living elsewhere. That would seem a little more acceptable. The same could have been said for RINGS, as the land of Middle Earth was devastated with meg-wars that eliminated a ton of the human populace. I find this more fathomable to accept into the mythology of both fantasy worlds, solely because the prime shows currently in our history fail to show or hint that any such additions to race existed. It's a perfect endeavor to showcase and would probably be a little more acceptable to swallow by the main followers of the books that presented both of these worlds in the first place.

Lets get back to the THRONES prequel for a moment. Outside of presenting a political landscape for the King and his successor, the actress Milly Alcock, playing  Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, is just now being replaced by an older actress - in a timejump event - for a reason to show the characters progression in age??? I'm not sure what decision brought that on as the Alcock is a 24 year old actress and she's been portraying a teen princess. I'm sure that when she was brought into the production, someone told the young actress that, "Hey, this IS a Game of Thrones Prequel, so expect to be seen naked in it!" I feel that Alcock has done a splendid job in her role, considering the scraps of dialog and character development the writers have tossed her way over the course of four episodes which have amounted to very little.

I'm certainly not trying to lead on to anything, but I am sure that the production team; including the directors, the writers and the on set crew probably didn't feel comfortable following the possibility of shooting another incestuous relationship in the series, like the one previewed in the first series between brother and sister in Game of Thrones. In my opinion, not allowing for Alcok to grow into the character of Rhaenyra over the course of several seasons is just a loss to the entire production just like Maisie Williams was allowed to grow as Araya Stark. The only reason for a timejump is to present a new character arc to help the more maturer viewers [who actually are the bread and butter of the series followers] to feel more comfortable seeing a mature looking actress to take it in the ass by the much older male actor in the series. And please don't forget that statues will be taken down in this series, to help appease those woke fans that changing history through sheer violence is the natural way to do course corrections in culture.

Outside of all that I've written above, there's nothing more to about these two series. The story arcs are bland, overly cryptic and it's definitely presenting the writing styles of two teams that have the same, useless writing talent of a bunch of Liberal's who are trying to show a medieval PC [politically correct] world, instead of a world of barbarism which would have existed in that time.

⭐️⭐️💫   [2.5 of 5 Stars] for both series

“WHEEL OF TIME” BECOMES AN UNFORTUNATE MISFIRE...

ðŸŽ¥ðŸŽžSeries Review🎞🎥 - WHEEL OF TIME - Amazon Prime - [PG 13] - This series is based on the book series by Robert Jordan. There was something about the first three episodes of this series that honestly intrigued me to follow it. Maybe it was the visual effects, the details in the production, the hint of mystical mystery, the look of being defiant against the new prequel series out there...maybe it was the addition of Rosamund Pike [from Gone Girl (2014)] that honed my willingness to give this thing a try.

At first glance, the story pitch was a little dry, dropping the viewer into the middle of something big, with magic and other essential mystical and dark elements to a back story that happened a long time ago; falling along the lines of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. So much of the same type of writing that movies and series before have digressed through over the recent years, that by the time the actual plot is laid out to the viewer, over some mysterious and diabolical reasons that no normal person could possibly understand or accept into their normal lives, you find out that there's a mission involved and that only a few people have been chosen to follow, all mostly against their will. I know, it all sounds like we've heard this same crap before, right?...it certainly isn't the story that sounds too familiar, but with all of the visual effects, the production, and the directing that all looks too familiar to ignore.

The story arc revolves around a group of young twenty year olds, all of whom question just about everything, including their own abilities, and love to argue amongst themselves over self doubt. They are forced to split up and travel for a few months to reach “The White Tower” - a place where all of the known witches reside, preparing themselves for a possible encounter with “The Dark One,” who is seldom seen. There is a prophecy that has been told and they are told that one member of the group is “the chosen one” who will defeat the evil one. Strange plot twist I’m sure, but the series still finds a way to show who is straight, who is gay/lesbian, and who has chosen to be celibate for spiritual reasons.

The cast is female heavy, most of the magic wielders are female, and in today's Hollywood way of thinking, where ever there's bunch of women living in harmony...well, you guessed it, there's some "alternate lifestyle" lesbianism  going on, which isn't a bad thing, but goes to prove that networks [and streaming services alike] love to use it to piss viewers off and make a selling point to bring in the younger viewers, like its THAT important to show that even in mystical times, being gay exists...whoah boy!

It's also too obvious to point out that, since masculinity is no longer an important element in the mystical world, that there are some over powering and heavily choreographed fight scenes with female heroines which will make this series last another season. If your in to watching a lot of cheese for entertainment, stay the course and enjoy the show. But in reality, this series had something good going for it until the leading character, for all of her mystery and power of being a magical witch, just showed her hand of cards and it was extremely weak.

STAR TREK PICARD FAILS TO DELIVER A BELIEVABLE EXTENSION OF STNG!

🎥 🎞 Series Review 🎞 🎥 - STAR TREK PICARD [STP] - Amazon Prime/CBS All Access - Okay, most people know that I’m a huge fan of Star Trek, but that I especially  don’t like anything that has to do with the J. J. Abrams rebooted crap or Kelvin timeline.

In STP, there’s a fantastic opening sequence with CGI lens flares that bothered me, but seeing Patrick Stewart back on the little screen was such a relief to my empty SciFi tank.  It was great to see the old NCC 1701-D roaming through the cosmos again, even if it was in a dream sequence. Brent Spiner returned for a cameo as Data of sorts, but with an all new, unfamiliar look [probably due to him being older] just took the nostalgia out of seeing the old crew again; hence, there was a reason why the cast of Star Trek - The Original Series [STOS] stopped making movies.

Sir Patrick Stewart is looking frail in his old age and the studio has done very little to hide this fact, even using it as a tool in an action scene where he is barely able to gain the strength to help escape on foot. The pacing is slow and there's no real sense of danger throughout any of the performances where it needs to be. This will be a cause for concern for most fans of the old series, but the addition of new "unknown actors" is sure to bring more apprehension to accepting the new format of the show. I think there was an idea during the initial design of the show, but it just lost its course during the production and the clear message was lost about how important this is to the human race and not just the vanity of one man.

However the show took an extra step to be too mysterious, too cerebral, too BLADERUNNER-ish, and filled too many with old ideas; for its own good. The whole “holographic technology” of on tapping glass or watching projections in thin air are not awe inspiring anymore. In the series following STNG, the perfect and clean setting of the series in the past have been turned into a gritty, don’t comb your hair society that has no class or structure for superior intellect. The is no explanation of how the future society had fallen prey to social media again is totally not believable; especially as it was told in STNG that the need for money, television, fame or social media ran its course and that man had found a better way to spend its time...well, apparently not.

Bringing the Romulans to earth was a nice idea, but reasoning behind it was a little dry in its explanation, and also used as an excuse in J.J. Abrams crap-universe. It doesn't help that Picard's need to take action to save lives against orders seemed a little retrospective of “ST-Insurrection.” Plus, I’m not sure what it is about today’s young female actors having the bad habit of constantly adjusting their hair behind their ears in a gesture of what “looks normal” to most, all while the camera rolls on; the little lady, who plays Data's "daughter" does the gesture five to seven times in one scene.

Fans can also expect to see new characters being introduced that cross over "gender revealing" shock-jock scenarios which are planned to bring new and old fans to accepting how gender issues are clearly important in the utopian future that Gene Roddenberry designed well over fifty years ago...it's disgusting actually.

The trailers for future episodes looks interesting, so I think I’ll wait for the entire season to load up before I even consider to pay to see it again...you should too.

NETFLIX SERIES REVIEW - LOST IN SPACE FAILS MISERABLY LOST IN BAD STORYTELLING AND PLOTLINE

The QUANTUM STORM Studio Review - LOST IN SPACE - Netflix [PG] - I'm a big fan of the original television series, not a big fan of the movie, but this new Netflix series was a HUGE disappointment!

Another series falls prey to the idea that spending large amounts of money on useless and baseless CGI is the way to go. Especially when some dumb-ass director tries to bring in J.J. Abrams-type lens flares to make things look more spectacular, well...you know that the whole production team was hoping something in the presentation of the show would make fans cry out for more.

But plain and simple, the plot and story is transparent, the acting is dry and filled with tons and tons of useless monologue that just stretched out each episode and left very little room to get to the point of the overall picture. The flow of the series bounces up and down after each new scene that was poorly constructed to tell three different stories at the same time; sometimes, you are even left to wonder "what happened to that other character when all of this was happening?"

The only light in the tunnel for this series was the cast which was rounded up for the show. I have to admit that there are blips and flashes of promises when the actors finally got into their roles...if you want to call them "roles." Again to put it plainly, "...having a career U.S. Marine play a useless father and husband because he was deployed most of his career and his wife resented it because she was the scientist of the family"...? Hello, who wrote this shit!? Sure, we live in a generation now where the woman is the strong anchor in the family and men are looked down as 'non-leaders' for this new generation of snowflake who are being brought up in our now soft society. But everyone knows [or should know] that military moms are bad ass, they kick ass, and always stand by their husbands when the tough gets going. This part of the series was written from looking at the "outside of what could be", instead of looking into a real military family and seeing what truly is!

One of the worst aspects of the series is showing that there is "token black actress" who's in the show as a main character in the family which was never explained...but was obviously added to prevent a white-washing of the show. The teens in this show are talented and cute, but none have the acting chops to pull off their roles in moments where they have to believe what they see in the CGI world. The scripted dialog produced for them seems to simple to employ and you're supposed to believe that if they shoot off some techno-babble, that these kids are smarter than your average bear. I sure as hell didn't fall for it and neither will the future followers.

But the absolute worst parts of the series has to be the tremendously bad editing, bad sequencing, non-tempo and the really horrible "J.J. Abrams-type" CGI that just left this pile of dogshit streaming for over nine episodes. I gave it a chance to prove me wrong, but the whole thing just puttered off and left the whole shit-smack open for a season two which would be an adventure-less idea to bring into next year. To say the least, the writers of this show had no idea how to create a solid SciFi show with enough drama and intrigue to keep the viewer entertained. I pray there won't be another season, but the Lost In Space trolls are already out claiming how good the first season was solely due to the robot, who was obviously a guy in a suit...and looked like a guy in a suit.
