"LEAP CHASER" - A DREAM PROJECT GAINING LIFE WITH STUDIO

LEAP CHASER PROMO COVERThe Woodlands, TX - The early 90s was an era that brought some well written and fun television shows to American television which instantly became cult classics with millions of followers and left a legacy that is seldom now produced through network writers.

Family oriented shows had broad talent and single messages which proved to be the right indigence for the future success of any shows that followed. Many of these shows had SciFi plots which certainly left their mark on American followers and many of these shows progressed with an idealism of what the future holds with science and expectations of what to expect in just the next century.

The additional of likeable, well established character development helped these shows expand with new actors who eventually marked their careers with a great start on a single show. During this time, having a big name wasn't considered an essential ingredient for success, it was all about the characters and their mission[s] in the show the actors performed in. It's not a bad thing to also add that a lot of the actors during this period were better known for their names in a show than their real names.

One show that truly inspired millions of Americans was QUANTUM LEAP created by Donald P. Bellisario, a series that ran for five years with some outstanding episodes, a few that hit home pretty hard, but in the end left viewers in a proverbial lurch after the series suddenly ended, leaving a huge plot hole without giving the series ending a proper answer to the shows main plotline; was the main character ever going to make it home?

In 2022, there was a revival series, also called QUANTUM LEAP created by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, which was launched on a streaming service that promised to deliver a sequence of new episodes that discovered the reasons and whereabouts of the main character lost in the Quantum Time String from the original show. This new series was a disaster and many of the episodes lost fans after failing to main solid stories to keep fans entertained. The show tried to develop new characters, mix up the cultural soup, add new social issues to the timeline of the main plot line, and expand on the technology of what older fans remembers from the original series. This attempt was cancelled in 2024 and it was well deserved to just be shoved away into a dark hole.

David R. Quintana
In late February, studio director D. R. Quintana made a  comment on a Tiktok video that started a debate on how the new Quantum Leap series failed and how the series writers should have approached a new plot line & format for a stories for the new show. His comment received a ton of likes [almost 4,500] over a very short time. He took note of many of the responses and began working on scripting a few ideas for later use. He shared the new script with Valjean Eskridge Jr II who suggested calling the possible new project, LEAP CHASER.

The script he initially didn't list characters or their start in development, just plot ideas and how to re-introduce the original technology for Quantum Time Leaping used in the original series. Technical terms weren't important, but the name of the AI used to assist the original leaper was. What wasn't in the initial writing of the scripts was the further development and design for props and sets. These sets of ideas had no nothing further to contribute to an idea of launching anything. These were just ideas

Nina Kaczorowski
Then in March, something very interesting happened. An American Actress, Nina Kaczorowski, made contact with Quintana and the two started to collaborate on some ideas for filming new projects vertically than horizontally, so it could be shared on a Tiktok platform; a format that Quintana was already working on. When the discussion of making an extended mini series based on the original Quantum Leap, Nina wanted to see some of the scripting that Quintana had put together. After the first scripts were sent her way, she was hooked with the idea of working on LEAP CHASER.

For several weeks, Nina and Quintana began texting and collaborating on several production strengths, putting a strong effort to launch this potential long shot with a new filming format and releasing each episode on larger platforms like Tiktok and Rumble.com. As silly as it may sound, this idea is already being presented on Tiktok with some interesting and successful indie films making a progressive success with each new release. Studio heads think that this new way of releasing films will generate increased views with stronger fan base followings located throughout the world; should the new series strike a nerve with Quantum Leap supporters.

Leap Chaser Promo Cover
At this point, the LEAP CHASER series is only in pre-production with the studio leveling down casting for the first six episodes. Location spotting is also underway with many of the locations targeted in the south-east areas of Texas and a possible location in Dallas. Quintana has said that the series is planned to maintain all technical practical and special effects as close to the original series to maintain continuity.

This series is not planned to do a cross over with the new Quantum Leap reboot series released in 2024; nor are there any plans to mention any characters from that series. This new series is only planned as an independent fan film production with a limited run of only 8 episodes. This series is currently planned to star Nina Kaczorowski, Valjen Eskridge II, Ashleigh Cousins, Eddie Enriquez, and Ethan Rock.

STUDIO TEAM TRAVELS TO GERMANY TO ASSIST WITH A WWII SHORT FILM!...

 DER SCHWARZE PANZER

Looking out at the production setup for a fantastic Indie film in Stuttgart, Germany, it was incredible to see all of the work that was being pushed for a production that crossed over the collaboration between four studios, from three different countries. I was honored to be given the chance to be part of this war epic that is based on the real life experience of WWII soldiers on both ends of this dark battle that took place at the end of the war.

On the second day of filming, I was allowed to use one of the US Army's old 50. Caliber Machine guns that was mounted on a Sherman tank! I left rip to 150 rounds of real ammunition and feel the real power of American weaponry that was used during WWII. To be exposed to such terrifying fire power and seeing the destruction at the other end just made the whole experience terrifying to analyze what other monstrous weapons were being used by both sides of the bloodiest war in world history. That war was fought by men, young men at that. My exposure to only one of the weapons in that war was enough for just the change for me to have a nibble of the excitement of pulling the trigger under supervision. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to do it on my own or in a war time atmosphere with an enemy force firing back at me. I say, leave those experiences to the men who were there and pray that today's youth isn't given the chance to have to ever face it alone.

We were on the set of an Indie Film being produced in Germany by some talented men who were put together to get both sides of a battle produced to film. The film, Der Schwarze Panzer presents a story where a platoon of US Army soldiers are being hunted down by a black Tiger Tank, that's being run on independent operations by a five man German team, some Hitler youth's, the oldest being 17 years old. Real American actors were flown in to play the part of the US Army platoon, while German actors filled in German roles to tell both sides of their tactics during the battles. There were no women involved in this film, besides the ones behind the cameras.

Due to the NDA's signed before the production, I was not allowed to show photos of me on the mocked up Tiger tank, but I can say that what the production team looked pretty damn close to what was used during WWII. As a matter of fact, all of the uniforms, weapons, and locations were all carefully chosen for this film. Our team, MICRO Entertainment, were welcomed to assist in close up tank operations, soldier movements, camera setups, and screenplay. Me being an experienced producer, I was able to assist the production with financing the American actors and also preparing them for their introduction to the German actors, most of whom are actually part of the German Army and large majority only spoke broken English.

During free time, I was allowed to clown around with the cast and shoot rounds from some of the many real weapons used on set. During our two weeks in the city of Stuttgart, we had a lot of hard days, with many nights walking around the large city and celebrating with the local townsfolk. It was one hell of an experience and I was very proud to work with the entire cast, the small production team who built the sets and made many of the war torn scenes look real and dated to the actual time of the events that occurred at the end of the war. We hope that our input into the American soldier side of the film will make an impression on the people who watch the film. Der Schwarze Panzer will be one hell of a film!

QUANTUM STORM WIKI ON “BIANCA: 2029”

BIANCA: 2029 – The Wild Card is a 2015 SciFi, dramatic/action web series written and directed by David Quintana-Lujan. It is the third web series idea and pitch produced by Quintana-Lujan, this series was the second web series [in development] produced under the studio name, Quantum Storm Productions. In the near future, aliens [from deep space] are running loose in America. Some of these aliens have good intentions and others want to take over the world. Bianca Wolfe is hired by an organization that regulates the free living aliens who roam the countryside and sends her out to arrest, detain, or eliminate any alien that poses a threat. Not everyone is aware that these aliens exist within their society, and now one police detective, Mr. Williams [Kelly Raymer], is curious to Bianca’s motifs, often wondering why she is above the law at every turn. BIANCA: 2029 features Kacey Kelley, Kelly Raymer, Katie Garza, and Jacob Hubbard.

BIANCA: 2029 is an ultra-low independent web series directed and produced for development by David Quintana-Lujan during the summer of 2015 after a teaser trailer was released in 2014 during the Ghosties premiere. The entire web series was developed and filmed in Montgomery County, Texas. This series concept was fallout from the successful “Secret of Angelika5” web series that was quickly coming to a close. The director-producer wanted to start a more action packed series with more of an adult theme to every one of the new episodes planned for production. Transitioning to this new series meant that the studio would need to bring in a new cast and also require cross ever episodes with Angelika5.

Originally, Bianca Wolfe was created as a comic book character that Quintana-Lujan developed in the 1990’s under a graphic serried entitled, DEADLY FORCE; so bringing this character to life was a long time dream.
The director-producer approached Kacey Kelley with the idea to produce an off-shoot series after the end of the fourth season of Angelika5, where Kelley was more than excited to extend the characters development, especially after she was introduced in the fourth season of the hit series. Kelley was given copies of the original Deadly Force graphic novel and also encouraged to openly share ideas for the character and began full time training to toughen her up for the role during the final weeks of shooting Angelika5. The director-producer sought out to find an investor-producer to help out with the running costs of the show and found Barbara Johnston more than ready to be part of the shows production effort.

In February 2015, Quintana-Lujan met Kelly Raymer at an independent films event in downtown Houston and admired the actors look and tall lanky build. He thought to himself, “this guy would make a really badass bad guy or a micromanaging dickhead,” which is where the idea of creating Mr. Williams was first established. Through a mutual contact, Darla Redwine [of Ghosties], Raymer had actually attended the Ghosties premiere [the year before] and wanted to work with the film’s director-producer on a new project, if the chance ever came up. Raymer was a respected comedic actor in the local Houston film scene and wanted to play a larger role in films, so when the director-producer first approached him about a new project, Raymer was ready to say, yes!

March 2015 brought the idea of Quintana-Lujan making changes to the first rough script for episode one. Where his previous works were more dramatic in the story telling, the director-producer began working on the dark comedic parts of a storyline where the “aliens on the run” might be more quirky in explaining that many of the authorized aliens don’t like the less intelligent aliens running around the planet making their race look bad. With the help from Kelley, the lead character would be portrayed as “tired of doing her job, but if no one else wants to step up to do it and get paid she might as well stick around.” This new philosophy in the character helped the script develop to an all new format in writing which the director-producer had never worked with, so several episodes were completed in only two weeks.

In May, Angelika5 wrapped up what would be the final season and the studio jumped to working on Bianca: 2029. Locations were set and Kelley was excited to get the project started. With only two weeks to prepare, the director-producer began to fill the rest of the cast. He found Jacob Hubbard working at a sandwich shop in the Woodlands, TX. He was fascinated with Hubbard’s facial features while he was telling tall tales or jokes with the local customers. Hubbard had no acting experience but was willing to try his best on camera; that was all Quintana-Lujan asked from him. Next he stumbled onto Katie Garza through the recommendation of Raymer who had met Garza on another indie production, and after a minor audition, she was brought on board to play Raymer’s partner. One actor who didn’t make the first episode due to having a stroke a few weeks prior to filming was Kevin Kretz, who was set to play Bianca’s alien Bail Bondsman who hires her to hunt down aliens.

Shooting of the first episode began in June on a hot day. The location for the first episode was filmed on Kelley’s fiancés home barn in Montgomery County, Texas. Most of the first scenes covered Raymer and Garza on camera, but the rest of the episode skipped to introducing Bianca Wolfe in all of her action packed and comedic splendor. The entire production took less than six hours to produce, and with the help of Kelley’s mother, Michelle Kelley, the production quickly moved from one scene to another. Unfortunately, at the completion of the production to the first episode, Kelley’s mother disclosed that she had terminal intestinal cancer but didn’t want to share the news until the first episode was complete. The episode was edited together in less than a day and two weeks later was released on the studio website as a teaser episode.

The first [and only] episode produced for the potential series was released to raving reviews by both the local indie film scene and at least five indie film critics. The episode received over 16,000 views in the first week after it was posted, most of the views were from overseas and many were centered by “instant fans” in Japan. After the studio website crashed and was lost, the series episode was posted on YouTube where it lost most of its momentum. The director-producer was so impressed by Kelley’s portrayal of Bianca and performance on film that to this day, no other actress has had the technical skill, ability, or commitment to play Bianca Wolfe on film.
