DEEP RETROSPECT ON THE FAILURE OF "STAR TREK ENTERPRIZE"

πŸŽ₯🎞️Series Review🎞️πŸŽ₯ - STAR TREK ENTERPRISE [2001-2005] - Paramount+ - PG13 - Produced by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga. Tons of writers and directors, some directors were previous Star Trek shows. Stars Scott Bakula, Jolene Blalock, John Billingsley, Connor Trinnear, Dominic Keating, Linda Park, and Anthony Montgomery. Launched September 26, 2001 and ended May 13, 2005.

Before many of the original Star Trek shows and timelines, there was a foundation that was set by a new breed of space traveler, close to our present times, who were chosen to go into space on board the first "warp capable" space ship known as the NX-01 ENTERPRISE. , Led by Captain Johnathon Archer [Bakula], non military officer. These are the voyages of that new crew, who through many tough times dealing with new alien species, tried their best to represent earth on a space vessel that was produced to establish a foothold on peaceful exploration. In the end, the experiment was a total washout, the crew and ship were either killed and eventually erased from the rest of earths history.

THE GOOD - It's another Star Trek series.

THE BAD - Bad acting, bad plotlines, bad directing, no ground breaking story arcs that tie what we know of the Federation and it's allies to the actual history of the entire Star Trek universe. No mention of the Romulan Wars, which was pivotal to the establishment of the "Federation of Planets."

POST MORTEM - I remember trying to follow this monstrosity when it first debuted on television. I was excited that Scott Bakula, of Quantum Leap, was chosen to lead the cast and that this was going to be a series that established the Star Trek universe, claiming to eventually not only lay the foundation of the Federation, but answer the most important question of all, "How did the Star Trek universe begin?" The problem with this piece of shit series was that it was handled by bad writers [especially Chris Black] and some bad plot lines [also written by Chris Black]. There are hints to this and that, probably to try and bait the overseers to another season or two, but the bait wasn't tasty enough and the entire thing was harpooned before it was allowed to surface for another breath. This idea was SO DEAD that there was never a chance for this experiment to go to the big screen. In my honest opinion, the entire series should have circled a hug plot around the early Federation accidentally stepping into Romulan territory and instigating an interstellar war between empires. During the Star Trek Original Series [STOS] - Commander Spock mentioned that a war had "broken out" between alliances [or empires] and that both sides "Fought with primitive atomic weapons, in primitive space vessels, which allowed no quarter, no captives...no human, Romulan, or ally has ever seen the other...a treaty, established by subspace radio, established this neutral zone..."

The final season of ENTERPRISE should have ended with the early Federation signing a peace treaty with the Romulan Empire over faded "subspace radio" that was also mentioned by Commander Spock. I have to also note that Berman and Braga lost a lot of respect from the Star Trek community for their failure. And it wouldn't be until many years that the Star Trek franchise would surface again through other very bad, even worse writers; like J. J. Abrams.
